Label design for Oriundo Puerto Rico, this label celebrates innovation through sustainability. The Lionfish Garum is a fermented condiment created from an invasive species found in Caribbean waters — transforming ecological challenge into culinary opportunity.

The label design reflects that duality: refined yet raw, scientific yet artisanal. The minimalist label layout pairs monospaced typography with a subtle illustration of the lionfish’s silhouette, symbolizing transparency and precision in the production process.

Design Concept

The concept merges marine biology and contemporary gastronomy.
• Clean composition evokes laboratory labeling, connecting the product’s experimental nature to Oriundo’s philosophy of research and craft.
• The absence of decorative elements allows the product’s story — and its unusual origin — to take center stage.

This approach positions the garum not just as a condiment, but as a statement on sustainability, design, and transformation.
